# AI for Pastors & Church Leaders

> Plain-English AI for pastors and church leaders: the bulletin that writes itself, sermon prep that goes deeper instead of thinner, and the confidentiality and integrity rules that protect your people’s trust.

## What it takes off your hands

ten and a half hours of your week.

- Chapter 4 — The clerical side of sermon and teaching prep (~2.5 hours)
- Chapter 5 — The bulletin, the newsletter, the forty small messages (~2 hours)
- Chapter 6 — Board packets, minutes, policy drafts, the annual report (~1.5 hours)
- Chapter 7 — Website, funerals-and-weddings paperwork, community letters (~1 hour)
- Chapter 8 — The admin that eats sermon mornings and your day off (~1.5 hours)
- Chapter 9 — The visitor follow-up and outreach you keep postponing (~2 hours)

That’s ten and a half hours in a normal week. Your first week will be slower — you’re learning a tool. By week three, the numbers above are realistic. Chapter 12 gives you the 30-day plan to get there.

## Questions

**Do I need to pay for ChatGPT or Claude to use this book?**

Not yet. The free tiers carry you through this book’s exercises and your first weeks of real use. You’ll know it’s time to pay (about $20/month) when you hit the daily limits during a normal workweek — that’s the signal the tool is earning a line in the budget. Chapter 11 covers what the money buys and how to explain it to the finance committee in one sentence.

**Is this book going to tell me AI is coming for my job?**

No. It takes the opposite position, and says so on page one: it is a good tool for words, it does not do your job, it does the writing around your job. The book's own last line on it is “this book will never suggest that AI write your sermon. Chapter 4 draws that line in ink and explains why it holds. Second: nothing about your people — no name, no confession, no counseling detail, no prayer request tied to a person — ever goes into an AI tool. Chapter 10 treats that as what it is: not a software policy, a covenant.” You can read the whole opening, Sunday Comes Anyway, free: 2,200 words, no sign-up.

**What is actually in the 150 prompts?**

Eight groups: Setup & Voice (1–15), Sermon & Teaching Prep (16–40), Congregational Communication (41–65), Church Operations (66–85), Community Presence (86–105), The Pastoral Workload (106–120), Outreach & Growth (121–145), Admin & Momentum (146–150). Every title is listed free on the prompt page, and twelve of the prompts are printed there in full.

**I have never used AI at work. Is this too advanced?**

It assumes nothing. Chapter 2 is “The 30-Minute Setup” and Chapter 3 is “How to Talk to It” — the tool is set up and the one real skill is taught before anything else is asked of you. The glossary at the back explains every term the book uses.

**How long is it?**

It is about 30,821 words across 12 chapters, plus the 150-prompt library and the glossary; the audiobook runs 2h 34m across 20 tracks, measured from the masters on 2026-08-31. Chapters 1–3 take about an hour and everything else depends on them.

**What do I actually get, and how is it delivered?**

Ebook at $7.99 and Audiobook at $14.99. Both are downloads and arrive the moment you pay — the EPUB has no DRM, so it is yours on any reader. Ebook ISBN 979-8-90623-439-1; Audiobook ISBN 979-8-90623-440-7. There is no printed edition of this one yet.
